    Description
    The Telecommunications Tower Technician certificate is a non-credit, two-part program that
    provides students with the necessary skill set to obtain a career in the telecommunications
    field.  **Students must successfully complete the Tower Technician I certificate, or provide an
    equivalent certificate from an accredited institution before progressing to the
    Telecommunications Tower Technician II certificate program.

    Training topics in the Telecommunications Tower Technician I Program include: OSHA 10-Hour in Construction, CPR/First Aid, defensive driving, fall protection, working at elevation (including hands-on), rescue basics, basic rigging, EME (RF) awareness, capstan hoist awareness, antenna and line basics, and NWSA certification preparation. The Telecommunication Tower Technician I certificate is intended to provide the student with the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills experience necessary for employability in an entry level telecommunication position.
    General Requirements of Students
    1. Possess the physical ability, agility and desire to work outdoors
    2. Possess the physical ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
    3. Willingness to travel
    4. Ability to pass a drug screen for employment
    5. Maintain a clean driving record with the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License if required.
    **Telecommunications Tower Technician II certificate program will require a Class A Commercial Driver’s License, OSHA 30 Hour Training, Leadership, Finance, & Customer Relations courses to be developed at a later date.
