This program provides comprehensive, hands-on training in fiber optics technology, preparing learners to install, splice, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic networks across residential, commercial, and outside plant environments. Students gain practical skills in fiber characterization, FTTH/FTTX deployment, cabling and termination, fusion splicing, and advanced diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve network issues efficiently, ensuring reliable and high-performing fiber optic systems in real-world field conditions. Earners who successfully complete the course and pass the knowledge and skills assessment with a 70% or higher may earn up to four OSUIT microcredentials and corresponding digital badges.
